Shannon Sekulich
CPA, CA, PARTNER
I obtained a diploma in Business Administration – Accounting Option from Camosun College in 1999 and shortly thereafter wrote and passed the Graduate Management Admission Test, allowing me to apply for admission as a student in the School of Chartered Accountancy at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia.

Len Hiquebran
CPA, CA, LIT, PARTNER
After completing my articling at a local accounting firm, I spent some time working in industry as a controller of a logging company. Subsequently, I joined Chase Sekulich, Inc. in 2017 and began working in the insolvency field. In June 2020 I completed my studies and was granted a license by the Federal Government to be a Licensed Insolvency Trustee.

Derek Chase
CPA, CA, LIT
After growing up on Vancouver Island, I made the easy decision to return to its natural beauty and recreational opportunities in 1993. Prior to moving back, I had spent eight years in Vancouver for schooling and articling with the international accounting firm Coopers & Lybrand (now Pricewaterhouse Coopers).

Edith Gonzalez
CPA, CGA, Accounting Manager
I was born and raised in Mexico where I obtained a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a master’s degree in business while gaining ample experience in industry, government and public practice. I immigrated to Canada in 2006 and obtained a Legacy Canadian accounting designation as a Certified General Accountant (CGA) in 2016 while working in industry helping business owners with their accounting, administrative and reporting requirements. Later I transitioned to public practice providing assurance, tax compliance and advisory services.
I moved to Campbell River in 2020 to join a local accounting firm, then went on to provide advisory and reporting services for publicly listed corporations. I joined Chase Sekulich in December of 2023 as Accounting Manager, assisting with the provision of bookkeeping, compilations, and income tax services for individuals and corporations.

Kristen Glennie
Staff Accountant
I was born and raised in the Comox Valley, and after beginning my work in public accounting in West Vancouver in 2005, I returned to the island and joined Chase Sekulich in December 2007. My work lies in personal, corporate and estate tax preparation, as well as compilation engagements and accounting support for our clients in a variety of industries.

Tess Brown
CPA, Senior Accountant
I was born in Campbell River and raised in small town Alberta. After completing University in Edmonton, I returned to my roots here on the Island where I worked for several years as a hearing practitioner. Accounting has always been my true calling, so I decided to make a career change and pursued my Bachelor of Business Administration at North Island College. After articling at a local accounting firm, I obtained the CPA designation and joined Chase Sekulich in September 2025. My passion is helping local small businesses, and I look forward to working with you!

Heather Whalen
Staff Accountant
I’ve worked in public practice accounting since 1976 and have been employed at Chase Sekulich since 2002. My daily work includes compilation engagements, bookkeeping, personal and corporate income tax and providing training and support for our clients’ accounting staff.

Betty Hadley
Bookkeeper
You could say I’m a true Island girl. I was born in Haida Gwaii, raised in Prince Rupert (Kaien Island) and moved back and forth between Campbell River and Denny Island over the past 30 years. I have since decided that Campbell River is my forever home. I have several years of bookkeeping experience from a variety of industries such as forestry, hospitality, retail, service & repair. When I’m not working I’m usually hanging out with my husband, my dog and a good book.
