Secure Client Portal (ShareFile)
We make a commitment of confidentiality to all of our clients – your documents and information are secure with our firm. One way we ensure that this commitment is prioritized when sharing information electronically is through using an electronic file-sharing platform called ShareFile.
ShareFile is a safe, easy-to-use tool that allows us to exchange digital copies of important documents safely and efficiently, by either (a) encrypted email or (b) through a dedicated secure online portal. You can rest easy knowing that all your information is securely stored on Canadian server banks.
This tool also allows us to reduce our paper use, which is better for the health of our planet, our community and our team members.
With respect to creating a dedicated online portal for sharing documents, the way it works is we set up a shared folder in your name and assign permissions for the folder to our office and any users you specify. You’ll be required to set up a user name and password to access the portal. When a document is uploaded, you and some or all of the other users are notified by email that a document has been added. The documents remain there, accessible to you or us, whenever we need them. We can even put copies of all the final documents we prepare in there and eliminate the hard copy altogether!
If you would like a dedicated client portal set up for you, all you need to do is let us know. If not, we will use the encrypted email function through ShareFile which simply uploads the document for your access for a 30 day period.
We can provide you with a link to upload documents for us the same way. Whatever way you prefer, you can be assured that your information is secure.
